Long-time race director, John Baker of Milton, has announced that the 18th annual
running of the Milton Resolution Road Race will take place on
Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 12:00 noon.
Course: Start/finish at the Milton Hall. 5 mile course combines paved and unpaved roads with some hills. First two miles are flat, 3rd, 4th and beginning of 5th miles are hilly. The final 6/10 mile on Potash Road (gravel road) is all downhill to the finish line.
Divisions: Male & Female Limited to 125 entrants
Driving Directions: From the center of Litchfield (intersection of Route 202 & Route 63), go west on Route 202, 8/10 mile, to traffic light. Take a right onto Milton road, go 2 8/10 mile. At the farm, take a right, go 1/10 mile. Take a left, follow Milton Road 9/10 mile to Milton Hall.
Prizes: Medals will be awarded to the first male & female finishers and to the first, second & third place finishers in each division, to the first male & female Litchfield finisher, and to the oldest finisher, male or female.
Registration: Entry forms are available at the Village Restaurant, Murphy's Pharmacy, True Value of Litchfield, and the Litchfield Parks and Recreation Office on Doyle Road in Bantam. Forms can also be downloaded (see below). $10 pre-registration fee must be received by December 17th, 2007.
$12 registration fee on day of race - Race Registration 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Facilities: the Milton Hall with its wood stove. Cider and doughnuts following the race for all runners, volunteers and spectators and press
Alcoholic beverages not permitted. No dogs allowed on race course.
In case of severe weather, listen for postponement to the next good weather day
