HAIGHT TO RUN 5K
The 4th annual running of “The Grape Race,” otherwise known as the “Haight to Run 5K Cross Country race, a picturesque run through the grounds of the Haight-Brown Vineyard and the trails of White Memorial Conservancy was held on Saturday morning May 8th. Top finishers in the race receive specially-labeled wine bottles from Haight-Brown Vineyards. All pre-registered runners got gift coupons or certificates from the winery and a commemorative hat made especially for the occasion.
The race itself is a tough and hilly course with outcropped rocks and the flowing Bantam River with a few other trails thrown in, plus the start and finish running around the Haight-Brown Vineyard's main field near the office and winery facilities. The entry fee is $15 pre-registered and $20 on race day.
Runners are encouraged to bring a change of clothes and take a tour the winery and the vineyards while there and learn a bit about wine-making in the great state of Connecticut.
