Aikido
AIKIDO
An ongoing program: Aikido is an excellent discipline for children.
As a non-violent art, it does not promote fighting or aggressive behavior; rather, it teaches children a way of falling safely, and an honorable way to redirect negative or hostile encounters.
The children's program is geared towards teaching the students some of the basic concepts and techniques of aikido, while instilling in them the need for respect, courtesy, kindness and patience.
These life skills are stressed as we study the traditional moves, as we learn in a variety of game formats, and as we sit and discuss the elements which help make a person a good aikidoist and a good human being.
