Summer Camps
Fun City Summer Camps
June 23 - August 22, 2008
Litchfield Parks and Recreation will be opening their summer playground camps on Monday, June 23rd at Community Field beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Two camps will run simultaneously, with the children 5 and under going to the Pre-School Playground Camp, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  The fee for the camp is $65 a week.  Daily drop-ins are also available to make things easier for the family.

Children aged 6 and over will go to the Sandlot Adventure Camp from 9:00 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Sandlot Adventure Camp is $80 a week, with daily rates of $16 per child. That breaks down to about $2.29 per hour for a child to have fun and learn in a supervised and safe environment.

All children should come to camp with their lunch, a snack, water, and a drink to get them through a day filled with activities.

The Summer Camps run through August 22, 2008. In case of rain, the camps will be moved to the Litchfield Firehouse, within a short walk of the camps.

The Sandlot Adventurers will travel to Sandy Beach on Tuesdays and Fridays, weather-permitting, for some fun in the water.  The 4-H Club will be making several visits to camp as will “The Game Show Guy” Keith Alan, and weatherman, Art Horn will be putting on an educational program on….well, weather!  Arts, crafts, sports, games and field trips will also compose the make-up of the camps, known as “Fun City!”
